10TH ANNUAL GANDHI PEACE DINNER
On Saturday, October 2 at 6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, dinner guests will be treated to a full, authentic Indian dinner,
featuring Chicken Vindaloo, prepared by Aruna Seth and a large crew of volunteers (see menu below). This popular event is
traditionally sold out so those wanting to attend should make reservations by logging on to www.gandhipeace.org or by
calling 223-4234. The cost of the dinner is $25. Carry-out is also available, with reservations, at 5 p.m.
ANNUAL ND PEACE COALITION CONGRESS
This annual event will be held Friday, Oct. 8th and Saturday, Oct. 9th at United Tribes Technical College, at the Jack Barden
Center. There will be an art display by Jane Peterson and Music, Poetry, and Movement by our own Kris Kitko, Bonnie Torrance
and Karen Van Fossam. The Key note speaker is Amy Goodman, from "Democracy Now".
Our own Tom Disselhorst will be receiving the "Prairie Peacemaker Award" at the banquet catered by UTTC, famous for delicious food. This is going to be a wonderful event. Come for one, or both days. Get information and registration forms from Steve Merrill, 258-8495, or merrills@btinet.net.
CROP WALK For Hunger
October 3, 2004, is the 36th annual CROP WALK FOR HUNGER, sponsored by Church World Service. This is a fundraiser working to
fight hunger worldwide.
UUSC (UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SERVICE COMMITTEE) will receive 75% of all contributions gathered by our Fellowship. The 25% local share will go to the Ruth Meier's House, Aid Incorporated of Mandan, the Bismarck Mandan food Pantry and the Abused Adult Resource Center.
The walk begins at 1:30: PM on the steps in front of the state Capitol Building and is 5 Km or 3.2 miles in length. A STONE
SOUP lunch will precede the walk at noon at the Fellowship. Please say "YES" and add your contribution to the envelope even
if you are not going to walk.
Do you know the story of the Stone Soup? Sunday, October 3, 2004, Char McLaughlin will be telling the story and with a little help from everyone, the soup will appear following the program for all to share. Be part of the magic. Bring something to add to the pot. UUSC'S IRAQ RELIEF FUND
