BETTY ON BOOKS
New books in the library are coming to you soon. Never think our delegates to Prairie Star annual meeting did not do their duty by the table with the books for sale. Prairie Soul, by Jeffrey A. Lockwood is subtitled "Finding grace in the earth beneath my feet." He is described as "an entomologist with a mystical bent. He invites us to walk mindfully on the earth, always relishing our contact with the land, yet always conscious if the mark we leave behind."

The Mystic Heart of Justice, by Denise Breton and Stephen Lehman and Restorative Justice by Howard Zehr ask us to look at how we deal with justice in this country in new ways. "Restorative justice is a process to involve, to the extent possible, those who have a stake in a specific offense and to collectively identify and address harms, needs, and obligations in order to heal and put things as right as possible."

All that and two new books of poetry by Mary Oliver: Why I Wake Early and Blue Iris.

That's for starters.
