What tools do you use when painting? |
| I use mostly acrylic paints and gouche when doing my published artwork.
The reason for this is that acrylic is easier to publish. When the publishing
company prints out my work, using acrylic and gouche creates a better final
product. When I have some spare time and just want to draw, I use pastel
chalk. Since pastel chalk is messier than acrylic paints, I only use chalk
once in a great while. |

| Where do you get ideas from? |
| I usually first start out by looking at several different
photographs. Once I find a combination I like, I sketch out a rough draft
of what I'd like the finished product to look like. After the rough draft,
I transfer the drawing over to tempered masonite with an acrylic gesso
(a white base that is put on the board before any paint is applied to it).
Once I transfer the rough draft, most of the fine details are put in with
only an outline and the main features of the details. Once the details
are done, I send my painting to the publishers where they make my prints. |
